In the 14th episode of the "Wooden Stories" series, we visit the owners of a log house that has already seen several seasons of intensive use.

This isn't a presentation of a recently completed project. It's a house that has already "settled," surviving winters, summers, everyday life, and family moments.
What is its technical condition like after all these years?
How is the insulation of logs checked?
Are maintenance costs in line with investor expectations?
I discuss this with the owner during my on-site visit.

Technology: 24 cm solid logs – natural durability
The presented building is constructed from 24 cm thick solid wooden logs. This solution combines the natural properties of wood with the robustness of a structure designed for year-round use.
Wood as a material:
regulates air humidity,
ensures a favorable microclimate in the interior,
works naturally, adapting to weather conditions,
with proper construction and maintenance, it will last for decades.
After several years of use, we can realistically assess:
condition of the facade,
structural behavior,
thermal comfort in winter,
general impressions of residents.
It is practice, not a catalog, that shows the true value of a log house.
Everyday life in a wooden house – the owners' perspective
The episode features the owner and his daughter. This is an important element of the story – because a home is not only about technical parameters, but above all, a living space.
We are talking about:
first fears before construction,
differences between a brick and a wooden house,
comfort of use,
heating costs,
whether they would make the same decision again years later.
An authentic opinion from an investor after several years is one of the most valuable sources of knowledge for people planning to build a wooden house.
Log house – an investment for years
Log houses often raise questions:
Are they durable?
How do they cope with the Polish climate?
Do they require frequent maintenance?
What is their value after many years?
The best place to look for answers is in finished projects that already have a history. This house demonstrates that a properly designed and constructed wooden structure can be a stable, comfortable, and timeless solution.

Wooden Stories – a series about real houses
The "Wooden Stories" series was created to show wooden houses not on the day of their delivery, but after years of use.
These are meetings with people who made the decision to build and today can share their experiences.
Episode #14 is another example of how a log house functions in real conditions – in winter, in everyday use, in family life.
